Dear AFP Greater Vancouver members,
As we prepare to turn the corner to Spring once again, it’s a great opportunity to share some updates along with some recent accomplishments that are very worthy of celebrating.
Last week, our Chapter was awarded the 2024 Ten Star Gold Designation and the 2024 IDEA Champion Award by AFP Global, the two highest honours a Chapter can earn. Our Board of Directors and Committees have been working extremely hard behind the scenes to develop engaging and meaningful programming while upholding standards in IDEA principles (inclusion, diversity, equity and access) and ethics.
Through the rest of this year, we have some exciting Professional Development events planned including the next Ask Me Anything session on Wednesday, March 27 on Mastering Storytelling in Fundraising Appeals. There are multiple breakfasts, Minglers, and Ask Me Anything sessions planned for this year, so watch your email for registration announcements coming soon.
Our Chapter is run by volunteers and we can always use more hands. We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Communications and Partnerships Committees. If you are interested, please reach out to info@afpgreatervancouver.org for more details.
I’m really proud to serve alongside such a talented and committed Board of Directors. Our Board represents a wide array of lived experiences and backgrounds and many serve on additional Boards and Committees within AFP at the national or global level. They’re all contributing to building a better AFP and I hope you’ll join me in thanking them the next time you see them.
I welcome you to reach out if you have any ideas, concerns, or are interested in joining our volunteer team.
Thank you for all you do to make a difference in our world as a fundraiser.
In best health,
Kyle Tiney, CFRE
