Job Description

The Manager, Fund Development is a full-time role created to resource DFSV’s fund development priorities as defined in the 2026–29 Strategic Plan. This position leads the development and implementation of proactive and relationship-based fundraising strategies, including annual giving, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and overall donor stewardship.

In a dedicated capacity, this role will strengthen DFSV’s fundraising infrastructure, enabling a proactive approach to donor relationships. The Manager will be responsible for comprehensive fund development, excluding grant writing, and with collaborative support from the Executive Director and Community Engagement Coordinator.

The Manager, Fund Development reports to the Executive Director and works in close collaboration with the Director, Communications & Partnerships and Director, Finance & Operations.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years in fund development, donor relations, or a related role within the charitable sector
  • Experience with relationship-based donor management
  • Experience with fund development technology/platforms, including donor CRMs or database systems (e.g., Salesforce Non-Profit Success Package or similar).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling external-facing materials
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience working in a small non-profit environment, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of the Greater Vancouver charitable sector and/or non-profit fundraising landscape
  • Commitment to DFSV’s mission and values, including a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
