We are looking for an enthusiastic, strategic, and highly organized Manager, Events & Community Partnerships to join our team. Reporting to the President & CEO, you will lead the Foundation's fundraising events, community partnerships, and sponsorship initiatives to generate revenue, strengthen community engagement, and advance our mission.
You will be responsible for developing and growing signature events, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising programs while cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community organizations. Working collaboratively across the Foundation, you will oversee event strategy, sponsorship, budgets, volunteer engagement, and event execution to deliver exceptional experiences and achieve ambitious fundraising goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy, Events & Budget
- Develop and execute a comprehensive events, sponsorship, and community fundraising strategy including the Foundation's third-party events program growing participation, revenue, and engagement.
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of the Foundation's signature fundraising, stewardship, and cultivation events, ensuring exceptional donor and participant experiences.
- Establish annual event goals, revenue targets, and performance metrics; develop and manage event budgets to ensure strong financial oversight and achievement of targets.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive event plans, production schedules, timelines, risk management plans, and operational documentation.
- Oversee procurement and management of event vendors, venues, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring quality service and cost-effective delivery.
- Secure in-kind donations, auction items, raffle prizes, and other event resources that enhance fundraising success.
Sponsorship & Community Partnerships
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate sponsors and partners, including developing sponsorship proposals, activation plans, fulfillment, and post-event reporting.
- Identify, cultivate, and support individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in hosting community fundraising initiatives on behalf of the Foundation.
- Proactively identify opportunities to deepen and expand corporate and community partnerships over time.
- Represent the Foundation at community events, donor meetings, sponsorship presentations, and networking opportunities as an ambassador for the organization.
Volunteer & Committee Leadership
- Lead the recruitment, training, engagement, and recognition of event volunteers and committee members.
- Provide leadership and support to event committees and volunteer leadership groups, fostering meaningful engagement and accountability.
Collaboration, Reporting & Innovation
- Collaborate with the internal team to develop integrated event marketing, communications, stewardship, and recognition plans.
- Analyze event and partnership performance, prepare reports, and recommend continuous improvements to maximize fundraising outcomes and participant engagement.
- Identify emerging trends, partnership opportunities, and innovative fundraising initiatives that strengthen the Foundation's event and community fundraising portfolio.

| Job Requirements | QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Event Management, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of five years' progressive experience in fundraising, event management, sponsorship, and community partnerships including demonstrated success planning and executing complex fundraising events and securing corporate sponsorships or community fundraising initiatives that generate meaningful revenue and engagement or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, donor stewardship, sponsorship development, and community fundraising best practices.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience developing and managing event operating budgets and achieving revenue and expense targets.
- Exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to engage donors, sponsors, volunteers, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and partnership development skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to anticipate and solve problems proactively.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience leading volunteers, committees, and cross functional project teams.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across the team.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual collaboration platforms.
- Experience using Raiser's Edge NXT or a comparable CRM/fundraising database to manage constituent relationships and reporting.
- Experience using event management, registration, and auction software (e.g., Auction Tracker, Givergy, or similar) is an asset.
- Experience in healthcare philanthropy, the nonprofit sector, or within a complex multi-stakeholder organization is an asset.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support Foundation events and community initiatives.
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.
- CFRE designation is considered an asset.
