At Mom2Mom, when moms thrive, children thrive.

Mom2Mom is working toward an equitable society where moms and children are not limited by poverty. We connect families with the community, resources, and support they need to flourish. We believe that when moms are strong, determined, and well-supported, children can overcome poverty-related challenges and thrive.

If you share our passion for gender equity and poverty reduction, and you're looking for a collaborative, values-driven workplace that rewards creativity and innovation, we encourage you to apply for this exciting role.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a creative, strategic and relationship-focused Communications & Fund Development Specialist to play a key strategic role in growing Mom2Mom’s profile, strengthening our donor community and building sustainable sources of funding to support our mission.

You will lead our communications activities, including social media, website and blog content, media relations, community outreach and the ongoing development of our communications strategy. You’ll help ensure Mom2Mom’s story, impact and brand are communicated consistently and effectively to donors, partners, families and the broader community.

On the fund development side, you’ll take the lead on annual fundraising campaigns from concept through execution, including campaign planning, copy development, creative coordination and working with external marketing and design partners. You’ll also support grant proposals and reporting, fundraising and stewardship activities, donor communications and the development of new and creative fundraising opportunities.

An important part of the role is relationship building and donor stewardship. You’ll cultivate and manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, with a particular focus on corporate and foundation relationships, develop individualized engagement strategies, and help strengthen Mom2Mom’s planned and monthly giving programs. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director and Fund Development Coordinator to deepen existing relationships while identifying opportunities to expand Mom2Mom’s community of supporters.

This role requires someone who can comfortably move between strategy and execution seeing the bigger picture while also writing the copy, developing the materials, managing the details and following through. You’ll manage multiple priorities and relationships and will have considerable independence within your portfolio, while working collaboratively with the Executive Director, Fund Development team, external creative partners, Board committee members and community stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

You are a strong communicator and writer who combines creativity with organization, sound judgment and follow-through. You’re comfortable building relationships with donors and community partners, managing multiple projects and deadlines, and working both independently and collaboratively.

Experience with donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, grant writing or the nonprofit sector is particularly valuable. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Canva, Keela or similar tools is an asset.

Most importantly, you understand the social and economic realities associated with poverty and bring a genuine commitment to social inclusion, gender equity and social justice.

Candidates must be based in the Lower Mainland and able to attend community and donor events as required.
