As we close out 2025, this is a perfect opportunity to pause and say thank you. This chapter continues to thrive because of the dedication of our Board of Directors and volunteer committees. These are members who give their time and talent because they care deeply about our profession and our community. From professional development, to mentorship, to membership, to scholarships, to IDEA, to government relations, to communications, to National Philanthropy Day, and so much more, their work this year has strengthened our chapter and our fundraising sector.
This newsletter also marks the final one in my term as President of our chapter. Serving our membership in this role has been a true privilege. The discussions and decisions aren’t always easy, but I complete my term with an even greater love of AFP and our profession.
As we look ahead to 2026, I am confident that the next Board of Directors under the leadership of Lucy Isham-Turner will continue to lead with empathy, passion, inclusivity and curiosity. You can see the 2026 Board of Directors below who were voted in by membership at the AGM a few weeks ago. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved in AFP, we always need more hands. The more you put into your AFP membership, the more you get out of it! Reach out to us at info@afpgreatervancouver.org if you would like to chat about volunteer opportunities.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your President, and for the work you do every day to support our community.
I send you my warmest wishes for a restful holiday season and an enjoyable 2026!
In best health,
Kyle Tiney, CFRE
President, AFP Greater Vancouver Chapter

Organizational Members
This month, we’re thrilled to shine a light on BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, a driving force behind pediatric health innovation in BC and the Yukon. As the fundraising partner for the province’s only pediatric hospital, the Foundation helps more than 100,000 children each year access life-saving care and supports groundbreaking research led by 1,500+ experts.
Their mission goes beyond treatment — it’s about transforming the future of child health through state-of-the-art equipment, bold research initiatives, and community-powered philanthropy. Every dollar raised fuels discoveries and care that government funding alone can’t provide.
We’re proud to celebrate BC Children’s Hospital Foundation for championing healthier tomorrows for kids and families across our region.
