Dear AFP Members and Friends,
As I conclude my two-year term as President today, I want to share that it has been a true honour to serve the membership and a most humbling opportunity to do so through a pandemic. I look forward to continuing to serve you as Immediate Past President for my final term.
Like many AFP Chapter “pandemic” presidents taking office and completing terms through 2020 and 2021 – this leadership experience has been quite literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And – what an incredible leadership experience it has been. Every way in which we have served the membership traditionally in the past was examined and re-created to bring in new opportunities.
The AFP Greater Vancouver Chapter is and continues to be an incredible community of fundraising professionals. The community, the sector, and most notably, its leaders and volunteers have demonstrated their talent and strength to overcome massive challenges and barriers. I gratefully acknowledge the outstanding AFP Greater Vancouver leadership volunteers that serve tirelessly on our committees, as mentors, as speakers, as Committee Chairs, and on the Board of Directors. We sincerely thank our partners and sponsors who help make everything we do possible for our membership. Thank you also to our outstanding team at MPS Executive Suites for all of their hard work with the Chapter.
As times continue to change, it is our hope and desire that our AFP community continues to offer the support and comradery it always has. I am certain, as we welcome our new President, Tracy London, and our incredible 2022-2023 Board of Directors we will see even more exciting opportunities as we begin to return to in-person engagements, including our National Philanthropy Day & Giving Hearts Awards on November 25.
I express immense, immense gratitude to you – our membership, volunteers, and friends – who come together collectively to work to make a difference in people’s lives, every day. Thank you so much.
